Veterinary Lingual Probe Directions

Veterinary Lingual Probes

DIRECTIONS

1. Connect the Compatible Lingual Clip Sensor with replaceable pads to the pulse oximeter.
2. Apply the Lingual Clip Sensor to the animal’s tongue. lf the tongue is particularly opaque or thick, the sensor may have difficulty obtaining a pulse. Move the sensor to a thinner portion of the tongue in order to ensure adequate penetration of light to the photodetector. The sensor can be placed over the center of the tongue on cats and small dogs.
3. After Application of the Sensor; push the tongue back into the mouth so that the tissues remain warm and relaxed. Ensure that the sensor does not block the airway.
4. The removable silicon pads should be replaced for any of the following reasons: if any of the pads appear loose. scratches appear that are below the surface, and when the pads become discolored or dirty.
5. To replace the pad(s) with a new pad(s) lift the edge of the pad adhered to the sensor. peel it off, and discard the used pad(s). Once the sensor is clean, apply the pad(s) and press firmly onto the sensor.
